Upcoming online training course on “Science-Policy-Society interactions in ecosystem-based marine resources management and planning” – March 22/24/26, 2021.
The training course on “Science-Policy-Society interactions in ecosystem-based marine resources management and planning” – which was originally supposed to take place physically in Venice in Spring 2021 – will be organised as an online training on 22nd, 24th and 26th of March, 2021.
Co-organisers are the Mediterranean Biodiversity Protection Community (MBPC) and the BlueMed coordination and Support Action (Research and innovation for blue jobs and growth in the Mediterranean Area) in collaboration with IOC-UNESCO and MSP Global Initiative. Focusing on ecosystem-based management marine spatial planning training, this unique training opportunity is being supported by the Marine Institute (Croatia), the National Research Council – Institute of Marine Sciences (CNR-ISMAR, Italy), the European Topic Centre of the University of Malaga (Spain), and the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions of Europe (France) and communication support from MedCities (Spain) and Latte Creative (Italy).
This training course targets mid-career marine scientists and professionals that seek to streamline marine conservation and marine science into planning and management of marine spaces and marine resources using participatory mechanisms engaging with stakeholders, resource managers, conservationists and policy makers.
Only the pre-selected candidates, 33 of them, will benefit from the full-time interaction with the trainers, while few attendees will be able to join with audio to listen to the lectures and discussions. The online course will be recorded and edited videos from the session will be available for a wider audience through the MBPC YouTube channel.
